Chris Thompson
Obtained IMSA pro racing license in 1981 same year I graduated from high school co-drove at Daytona with Don Yenko . Competed alongside my father Jerry Thompson in IMSA GT, Kelly American challenge, Firehawk, Motorola cup,. World challenge, scca Nationals and regionals, GrandAm AGT, Rolex series. Mostly driving GM V8 powered race cars through the 80s and 90s. More recently been racing the endurance series'. SCCA Enduros, AER, WRL and Champcar. Multiple class wins in all of the following series. 2 Overall wins in AER 2016 with Kent Jones #82 PMW Motorsports BMW team 3rd in championship. 2018 highlight was to co drive with my father Jerry Thompson and my son Patrick Thompson at Sebring Champcar New year's race. 2019 started winning with Kent Jones new E46 at Barber Motorsports Park and then on to win at Road America in WRL Then onto Four class B wins in Champcar with my own team Mostly Motorsports in an RX-7, most notably VIR 24 hour and Thompson 12 hour, where we took second overall at Thompson as well.
