Van Svenson
Growing up as a farm boy in Virginia, I liked all things mechanical, but it wasn't until I joined my college's Formula SAE team that I discovered sports cars and performance driving. After graduating college, I bought a basketcase Porsche 914, and after a year of fixing it, I bought a 944. I started autocrossing it immediately then went to my first track day in 1998. I was hooked! I started sprint racing with PCA in 2002, did some endurance races with Lemons and ChumpCar, then did a season with Pirelli World Challenge in 2015. I guess you could say it's been all downhill from there... Now I race whenever I can - sprint or endurance, formal or informal - when I'm not building race cars in my garage.
